ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the parliamentary committee formed to finalise the terms of reference (ToRs) for the judicial commission to investigate the Panama Papers leaks was postponed on Tuesday.
According to the National Assembly (NA) Secretariat, NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq contacted Leader of the Opposition in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan and offered his condolences over the recent attack in Civil Hospital Quetta which claimed the lives of 70 people, most of whom were lawyers.
The handout said that after speaking with Aitzaz, the NA speaker postponed the ToRs parliamentary committee meeting which was to be held on Tuesday. Ayaz also stated that a future date to conduct the meeting would be decided after consulting the opposition.
On Monday, a bomb blast occurred at the Civil Hospital Quetta after the dead body of slain Balochistan Bar Association President Anwar Kasi was shifted to the hospital. The blast was also followed by firing which led to at least 70 people killed and several more injured.
