KHYBER AGENCY: Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) welcomed the reforms package for the tribal belt and asked the federal government to give the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) a separate status instead of merging it into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
These views were expressed by the Ameer JUI-F, FATA, Mufti Abdul Shakoor Betani, while talking to reporters at the Landikotal press club on Sunday. He said that elimination of the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) was the need of the hour and asked for imposing Shariah law in the tribal areas. The JUI-F leadership was against the merger of FATA with KP.
