PESHAWAR: Politicians and lawmakers strongly condemned the use of brutal force against peaceful citizens, their extra judicial killing and grave human rights violations in the Indian Occupied Kashmir, here on Wednesday.
In an exclusive chat with APP on the Black Day being observed across the country on the call of the federal government to protest against the massacre of about 48 innocent Kashmiris and worst human rights violations in the region, member provincial assembly Rushad Khan said that the entire nation was standing with the people of Kashmir in their just struggle for self-determination and would continue the moral, political and diplomatic support till the achievement of their long awaited goal.
He said that the recent extra judicial killing of a large number of innocent Kashmirs in the region was a big stigma on the face of India’s so-called secularism. He said that the people from Karachi to Khyber and Azad Kashmir to Gawadar were observing black day to express solidarity with the embattled Kashmiris so that the world community’s conscious could be awoken.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had adapted a bold stance on Kashmir and had significantly highlighted this core issue on every international forum in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir. “It was PM Nawaz who had invited Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Lahore where he admitted that Kashmir was a disputed territory and its peaceful resolution was must for durable peace, progress and stability in the entire region.”
Advisor to the Prime Minister Engr Amir Muqam said in a press statement issued here that the entire nation stood with the people of the region in their just struggle and the support would continue till they get the right of self-determination.
He said that the people of Pakistan were observing black day today to express solidarity the Kashmiri brothers and sisters of the held Kashmir and urged International Community and UN to implement its resolution on Kashmir.
Jamat e Islami Khyber Pakthunkhwa Vice Ameer Noorul Haq strongly condemned the use of brutal force by the Indian forces in the region and demanded the United Nations and the international community to take notice of the continued human rights violations and brutal atrocities unleashed by the occupational forces in the region.
He said that India could not stop people of Kashmir from raising voice for their just struggle for self-determination through use of force. He said that the time was not away when the Kashmiris would get freedom from Indian subjugation.
He said that the massacre of about 48 people including freedom fighter Burhan Wani had exposed the secular face of India. “The situation in Kashmir is worsening day by day and time has come to address this core issue as it is posing serious threats to security and peace of the entire region,” he remarked. He said Indian leadership’s stubbornness was the main hurdle in the way of the resolution of Kashmir issue.
He said that the Kashmiris had been fighting the Indian aggression and brutality for decades and urged the world body to fulfill its commitment and pledges by giving the right of self-determination to the people of the region.
Senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party Rahimdad Khan strongly condemned the use of brutal force against innocent people in Kashmir and demanded UN to implement its resolutions on Kashmir. The brutal assassination of a popular Kashmiri youth leader, Wani and killing of about 48 deaths and injuries to thousands others has further deteriorated the already tense situation in the region.
He said that PPP had staged protest demonstrations in the KP against killing of civilians in Kashmir and vowed to continue the moral and political support of Kashmiris. Awami National Party leader Wajid Ali Khan said that self-determination was the right of the people of Kashmir, adding the Kashmir issue could only be addressed through negotiations instead of wars.
He said that it was the responsibility of Pakistan foreign missions and National Assembly Committee on Kashmir to highlight the atrocities and human rights violations of occupational forces. The ANP leader urged the government to immediately convene the session of the parliament to take stock of the matter and convey a message by adopting a unanimous resolution expressing strong bonds and solidarity with the embattled Kashmiris so that the world community’s conscious could be awaken.
